The Create a Reader Collaborative....
Provides instructional sessions virtually or in person to parents of young children. There are three instructional levels available to school districts and parent organizations. Typically there are five sessions based on the big ideas in reading education.
The three levels focus on these age and grade spans.
(1) Birth to Kindergarten Family Program,
(2) First and Second Grade: Growing Confident Readers
(3) Third Grade and Up: Literacy and Loving It!
What is provided...
Parents and Students will receive FREE information, resources and materials that will foster Literacy Learning. These teaching tools are focused on the five big Ideas in Reading: Oral Language, Phonological Awareness, Alphabetic Principle /Fluency, Vocabulary and Comprehension. Each set of sessions will be focused on those in a developmentally appropriate manner.

Materials and resources portray the many rich and diverse cultures that bring us together in understanding of one another. We do not discriminate based on race, color, ethnicity or gender.
Executive profile...
Dr. Sally Yorke-Viney is a member of the International Literacy Association, PDK, ASCD, Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Actors Equity and the Authors Guild. Her creative focus is on picture books and poetry. She is an active member of Storyteller Academy and enjoys writing STEM related picture book manuscripts.

- How do I ensure that Create A Reader Program comes to my area? Create A Reader is a program that will be presented through a school district, a PTO or a Community Benefit Organizations.
- How can I get the free materials? These materials are provided by the school district, PTO or Community Benefit Organizations when they book the Create a Reader Family Program and will be provided to families once they are registered through these community organizations.
- Is there a fee to participate? There are NO fees for families. Services and materials will be provided by the program through collaboration with Create A Reader family program and the community organizations.
- Can I sign up individually to participate? Unfortunately not, please contact your school district, PTO or community organization if you are interested in Create A Reader Family Programs.
